Beaumont Ridge Neighborhood Photos

Here is a little web archive of Beaumont Ridge photographs of its people, places and events.  If you have any photos of the neighborhood you'd like to share, send them to elf(at)beaumontridge.com.  I will avoid using last names since it's an open Internet page, and all copyrights are retained by the original photographer.

November 2009 - Beaumont Ridge stands on the land that was the Beaumont Farm.  While a neighborhood has replaced it, there is still plenty of agriculture around us.  I was pondering this while eating breakfast and noticing a wheat field to the northwest with a stand of trees in fall colors behind.  And a ready to be harvested cornfield to the southwest on the other side of Ainsworth Road.  We get nice sunsets too, although those point and shoot digital cameras always want to lighten them up.

October 2009 - With some concerns of people speeding through our neighborhood, the Village had the police install a radar warning sign on Basham Lane.  Hopefully this reminded the speeders that there are lots of kids in the neighborhood, but we decided to do a test to see what other vehicles could register on the sign.  Jake on his bicycle did the best, registering 21 mph.  Emily's scooter attained a respectable 13 mph, and the Craftsman tractor and I could only achieve a disappointing 6 mph.

May 2009 - Here are some photos from my initial photo shoot of the front entrance for the website.  Here are a couple houses on Basham Lane in the morning sun.  A shot of the entrance from across MD  and the backyards of Maple.  The pavilion and bench with the trees in bloom.  The Beaumont Ridge sign.  The retention pond near the front entrance.  Another view of the pavilion with Kate's Court in the background (I like how this one turned out.)  Shooting down the bike path along MD.  Did I mention we're across from Ironwood Golf Course?  Thanks to Tammie Brasfield, John Evans, Jon and Anna Purdy, Duane Debelek and Rolf Haemel who all spent a good amount of time volunteering on Mothers' Day weekend to cleanup this entrance.   I wanted to get some photos after all that effort.

May 14, 2009 - It's hard to tell with the digital camera, but there's a bit of a rainbow in the brightest part of the clouds.  Who's house is that over?  Check the backyard for gold.

September 2008 - Another Rainbow behind a house on Basham Lane.  Check the backyard for a pot of gold.

2007 - Another Satellite image of the neighborhood.  These are getting harder to date.  It's before November 2007 because my neighbor hasn't started building.  And I think I see a tree we planted in spring 2007.  So I'm going with Spring or Summer 2007 for this one.

2006 - A satellite image of Beaumont Ridge from around June of 2006.  This was taken from Google Maps.  I can estimate the date of this one by the status of my driveway (in place) and yard (dirt, no grass.)  Oddly enough, this image was on Google Maps a few years ago, and the current version that appears is the older one from 2005.

2005 - A couple satellite views of Beaumont Ridge from April of 2005 from Google Maps and  Beaumont Ridge from July of 2005 from Microsoft Maps.  These dates are approximate, but I can get a pretty good estimate from the progress of my house.

2003 - A satellite view of the Beaumont Farm from Zillow.  The terrace you can see ran through my backyard.  Even though it was smoothed by the landscaper, as of 2009 there is still a noticeable change in the grass color above and below where the terrace lay.
